Event description

Are you a family carer or supporting someone living with dementia? Do you want to know more?

These free events are designed for family carers, informal carers and others supporting people living with dementia in an unpaid capacity. If you are a professional and wish to attend, please call the office - these spaces are limited. We have been running face to face sessions for three years but there are many people unable to attend these so we are providing the opportunity to discuss and learn from the comfort of your own home.

Please see our website for full details of other seminar.

At this online event you will:

  • Think differently about dementia, understanding it, including common symptoms

  • Continue to see the person – not the condition

  • Recieve strategies to overcome communication barriers

  • Learn how to connect with your loved one using practical tips

  • Learn the benefits of contact with nature and the outdoors

  • Network with local support organisations and other family carers

  • Have the opportunity to ask individual questions

This is a two hour session - we will open the session at 6.15pm in order to check connectivity and sound quality. You will receive an email a week before the session with the relevant link in order to join the session.

Feedback from previous events:
'This course will help me to encourage people to do what they love doing and promote independence’

‘Wish it was longer – would love to learn more, 11 years of training this was the best’

'Wonderful to spend time with people who are so positive about dementia. I have been so inspired by the day. Thank you!'

We'll be adding many different events, including face to face session over the coming months, Please check our website regularly to see if we are running an event in your area or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
