Online citizen science training required to take part in our litter surveys across the Thames River taking place in June.
About this event
We look forward to welcoming you to our online training which will cover everything you need to know to be a Thames21 Citizen Science Volunteer for Thames River Watch.
These online sessions will cover:
- An introduction to Thames River Watch
- Types of litter that collects around the river
- Bulk survey method
- Quadrat survey method
- How to upload your data of the litter you found
Both new and existing Thames21 volunteers are encouraged to attend to learn the latest easy methods to survey plastic pollution on the Thames. This training is suitable to anyone (over the age of 16) who has an interest in plastic pollution or if you want to help monitor and improve the Thames river.
Please select one of the online training dates in June and one of the in person training sessions also that will accompany this online training.
The online June training sessions are:
- 8th June - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
- 11th June - 11:00am to 1:00pm
The in person June training sessions can be found here (please make sure you book onto a session):
- 11th June - Broomhouse Dock, Fulham
- 17th June - Poplar Rowing Club, Isle of Dogs
- 18th June - Infront of the Hurlingham Club, Fulham
