About this event

The LGiU is offering a new service for members to discover more about their individual personality behaviours and traits, including an online test with a personalised profile report and confidential feedback.

Psychometric testing is something you may be aware of, you may have even taken a test previously, but do you understand how testing is used and who benefits from it? Career development, recruitment and selection are certainly some of the areas where tests can enhance the quality of the information in decision making.

This workshop provides an insight into psychometric testing together with an opportunity to discover your hidden or unknown strengths.

Key outcomes:

  • Learning what psychometric testing is and how different tests are used
  • An opportunity to take part in a simulation exercise followed by a post-course test with bespoke feedback on your personality traits and behaviours
  • Understanding how a local authority benefits from using performance tests.

Jan Kennedy

Jan has worked in the public sector for more than 30 years, providing training advice and guidance to central and local government departments, across the UK. Her former post was Head of Training for APSE, Association for Public Service Excellence. Jan is a member of the British Psychological Society and is a registered BPS test user. She holds a Certificate of registration in Test User Occupational Ability and Test User Occupational Personality. Jan’s approach is to ensure that all learners fully engage with her training sessions, and enjoy the opportunity for continuous improvement.
