Summary: Conflict within teams is inevitable -it arises from differences in personalities, perspectives, and pressures. While some conflict can be healthy and even drive innovation, unresolved or poorly managed conflict has the potential to damage relationships, erode trust, and reduce team effectiveness.
This workshop explores how HR and OD professionals can better understand, manage, and support teams experiencing conflict. It provides practical tools for recognising conflict early, addressing issues constructively, and creating the conditions for teams to manage conflict themselves. The aim is to build confidence and capability in navigating conflict in ways that strengthen relationships and improve organisational outcomes.
Objectives:
· Provide a context for workforce practitioners to consider the nature and impact of conflict within teams.
· Offer a working definition of conflict and the principles of effective conflict management.
· Explore team dynamics and the role of psychological safety in conflict.
· Build knowledge and skills for early and constructive conflict intervention.
· Introduce practical frameworks and tools to support HR and OD professionals when managing team conflict.

· Understanding conflict in teams
· Conflict escalation and how to recognise and prevent it
· The role of psychological safety in conflict management
· Practical frameworks for managing conflict in teams
· Tools and approaches for early resolution and constructive conversations
· Creating a culture of healthy conflict resolution
· Applying learning to case studies and real-life scenarios
Facilitator: Nicole Eisele, Conflict Resolution specialist, Mediator, Coach and Team Coach
Biography
Nicole is the founder and Director of Eisele Consulting. She believes the prevention of conflict is equally important as the resolution, especially where an organisations performance is concerned. As part of a conflict prevention initiative, she works strategically with organisations to implement positive engagement, diversity, and change, as well as coaching individuals to improve communication, leadership and resilience.
Nicole believes in the power of working with teams and individuals as they increased awareness and understanding of the organisational systems, they work in. She works to ensure that clients have enough clarity to create dialogue and debate to engage others in collaborative work. Nicole believes in the results that can be achieved through good quality conversations.
Nicole is an accredited workplace, family, and community mediator, Restorative Justice Practitioner and ICF Professional Certified Coach and Team Coach. She has holds a degree in Psychology, Masters of Law in International and Commercial Dispute Resolution, and a Masters in Organisational Psychology.
