Trans-inclusivity Seminar Series

This talk is part of a multi-month series that started from 14th February continuing until June 2024 with a variety of talks given by leading academics and current researchers in trans-inclusive research and study. It is no coincidence that the series started during LGBT+ history month - as the Institute of Education (IOE), UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, looks to celebrate trans-inclusivity with UCL's own academics along with our invited external speakers. Each event will be advertised in good time but separately when practical arrangements have been fully made for each. There will be enough time for participants - within and outside the university to sign up to the in-person event - or the livestream which will be available for each public speaking event. The Trans-inclusivity Seminar Series has been funded by UCL's LEIG (LGBTQ+ Equality Implementation Group).

Note: Any details for following events which are not being currently advertised cannot be disclosed until ready to be promoted. Please do not enquire until promotion has started for it.

Event Information

You will receive via email the room of the location when it is confirmed up to a day before the event. The event will be at UCL's Bloomsbury campus near Euston, Euston Square or Russell Square underground stations.

If you have any accessibility needs, please email simon.liu@ucl.ac.uk (IOE Faculty LGBTQ+ Equity Lead - Coordinator) with as much prior notice as possible to the event, in order to ensure enough time to put in place any possible accommodation required.

There will be event assistants available on the day to escort or guide participants to the live event location if required. Event assistants will also be able to signpost the nearest suitable toilets for participants.
The live event is ticketed and no admittance is given to anyone without having signed up beforehand. You should aim to arrive at least 15 minutes beforehand in order to be admitted and seated so that the event can start on time.

The livestream event is not possible to access without the link. In order to receive this link, you will need to sign up in advance of the event starting. There is no guarantee of receiving this on time if you sign up on the day of the event.

The Trans-inclusivity Seminar Series events have been organised in order to promote trans-inclusive research and academic work. All interested participants from the LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ communities are welcome and are asked to be respectful in their questions and comments – whether online or in-person.

The IOE Faculty LGBTQ+ Equity Lead (Simon Liu - he/him/his) and/or a facilitator charged by him with overseeing the live event will be present before, during and after the talk to ensure the smooth running and supervise the welfare of all during the event. The livestream will also be moderated throughout.
