ONS Local has been established by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to support evidence-based decision-making at the local level. We aim to host insightful events that connect our users with exciting developments happening in subnational statistics and analysis at the ONS and across other organisations. This webinar is presented by the West Midlands Combined Authority’s Transport for West Midlands Team (TfwM).
The DfT has just released a new national connectivity analysis https://www.gov.uk/guidance/connectivity-tool, in parallel with this the WMCA has been using similar techniques to measure its local transport plan performance. This webinar will highlight some of the practical issues encountered in developing the analysis and what the DfT connectivity metrics are best suited for (national ranking and comparison), and what the authors suggest the local metrics are better suited for (policy development and communication to stakeholders).
This event is open to all; we anticipate it will be of most interest to anyone working on transport, amenities and job opportunities in local authorities.
