About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

ONS Local has been established by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to support evidence-based decision-making at the local level. We aim to host insightful events that connect our users with exciting developments happening in subnational statistics and analysis at the ONS and across other organisations.

Productivity is a critical indicator of economic performance. Understanding this metric at a local level - and within specific industries – is a challenge that offers interesting insights into key policy questions.

In this workshop, Stuart Newman, senior economic analyst at the West of England Combined Authority and former head of Multifactor productivity at ONS, provides some possible approaches to understanding these data.

Using official datasets, Stuart will work through some practical techniques to assess local productivity levels, indicative insights into local authority-level productivity by industry, and some proxy approaches to fill data gaps.

If you have any questions, please contact ons.local@ons.gov.uk.

All information submitted via Eventbrite will be held in line with the Office for National Statistics privacy policy.
