In ‘Oor Pride’, the history of Scottish pride marches is told by voices from within the Scottish LGBTQIA+ community. The film uses first hand accounts and archival material to present our history, starting from Lark in the Park protesting Section 28 in the late 1980s, through the blossoming of prides in rural areas of Scotland, to the online festivities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The film celebrates the legislative successes of the past 3 decades and takes a critical look at what we are still fighting to change in society today.

Filmmaker Lisa Emily Petersen, who was selected to produce the film by a panel of Pride organisers and activists, said:

“Oor Pride was in many ways a dream project for me. It felt liberating to be able to make a film about Scottish queer history told exclusively by members of our community and it was a real eye opener to learn just how much has changed in the past few decades.”
