"Great Scott!"

Join us for a fun-filled evening at a magical open air cinema event. We're showing the all-time classic movie, Back To The Future.

Leap back in time with Marty, Doc and the gang, re-live your youth and/or introduce your kids to a retro cinema masterpiece.

The open air cinema set-up means each ticket holder gets their own special headset to tune in to the film:

  • Pick your spot on the heath
  • Get some drinks and snacks
  • Get comfy (and get a great view with our 30ft screen!)
  • Then slip on your headset to be transported into the wonderful world of cinema...

"88 miles per hour!!!"

All in aid of the Royston District Scouts, who are fundraising for the young people and leaders attending the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in 2023.

=====

IMPORTANT

We require a £10 refundable deposit on the night for each set of wireless headphones.

Basically, this is to ensure you remember to bring them back!

Headphones will be provided once you're checked in and tickets have been scanned. All deposits will be returned when you return your headphones.

The film start time is approximate due to light levels needed for optimum viewing!

====

There's more...

"Wait a minute Doc... are you telling me you built a time machine...? Out of a DeLorean?"

We're delighted to confirm that some of the local members of the DeLorean Owners Club are going to be attending the event too - bringing some of their amazing cars with them (example photo at the bottom of the page).

Get in fancy dress and grab a selfie with one of these iconic cars!

(to be clear, these are valuable classic cars, so any selfies are likely to be near/in front of... rather than hanging out the passenger window etc.!)

Frequently asked questions

Thank you for supporting this event which is a Charity Fundraising evening for Royston District Scouts.

We’ve put together this list of FAQs to help you enjoy your evening.

Can I buy a ticket on the night?

Please buy your tickets online in advance. We’re limited in numbers and are expecting the event to be very popular. Book early!

Do I need to bring a paper ticket?

No need – your tickets are issued electronically so just bring them on your phone and save the paper.

What time does it start?

The movie will start just after sunset (expected around 7:30pm) but please arrive in plenty of time to find a parking spot, collect your headset(s), buy some drinks and snacks and pick a prime spot on the heath to enjoy the film.

Why is there a ticket fee?

As with almost all events this is the fee that we are charged to process your payments on the ticketing system and run the ticketing system. We do not gain any benefit from the ticket fees. This all goes to Eventbrite.

What happens if it rains?

The event is outdoors and we do live in England so there is a chance that might happen. Come prepared for the conditions. If it does rain we will still go ahead so dress appropriately, wrap up warm and enjoy the occasion.

If the weather forecast is extreme (i.e. high winds over 25mph or thunder and lightning) then we may need to postpone the event. In that situation we’ll let you know and transfer your ticket to the rearranged date.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets are non-refundable. However, in the event is postponed and rescheduled and you inform us within 14 days of the revised date that you are unable to make the rescheduled date, you will be refunded the ticket price you paid less a small processing fee. We are unable to refund the Eventbrite processing fees.

Are children allowed to attend?

Of course! Back To The Future is rated PG. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Everyone attending will need their own ticket which includes the cost of the individual headphone hire for the movie.

When does the event start?

Doors, the licenced bar and café will be open from 6pm. We’ll start the film at sunset and expect that to be shortly after 7.30pm

What should I bring?

Bring blankets and chairs to sit on! Remember to come dressed for the evening – the movie will start just after sunset (so the screen looks great!) so the temperature will have dropped.

After the movie closes there is limited lighting available so consider bringing a torch too.

Can I dress up?

100% yes. Dressing up is positively encouraged. Come as the wild-haired Doc; slip on your 80s body-warmer as Marty McFly; suit up as tough teacher Mr. Strickland... come just come in your favourite 80s (or 50s!) retro gear!

How loud will the movie be?

To minimise disruption to our neighbours your ticket price includes the hire of our exclusive headphones so everyone can adjust the volume to suit themselves. Please return the headphones to the returns booths at the end of the evening.

Unreturned headphones carry a charge of £25 so please help us by returning them promptly at the end of the evening.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

The event is being run as a fundraiser and we’re being supported by the team at The Heath Café with a range of food and drinks including a fully licenced bar - so we ask that you do not bring your own food or drinks.

Can I bring my dog?

Whilst dogs are allowed on the Heath please don’t bring them to the movie unless they are an assistance dog.

Can I smoke?

Please be considerate of others and for the comfort of everyone please don’t smoke or vape in the main viewing area.

Is on-site car parking available?

The main car park next to the Heath Café will be open and marshals will direct you on the evening.

Are there toilets?

Toilets are available within the Heath Café.
