About this event
PLEASE NOTE: this session is designed for writers of colour (POC participants)
Join Open Book and the Scottish BPOC Writers Network (SBWN) for an hour of creative writing on Fridays.
We'll be reading stories and poems aloud, and using them to create our own writing in a gentle, guided session.
Join the Open Book POC Creative Writing Group on Zoom once a month on Friday from 12-1pm.
Scottish BPOC Writers Network (SBWN) is an advocacy and professional development group for Black and POC (people of colour) writers based in or from Scotland. They are offering care/childcare and/or data bursaries for 3 SBWN members on low incomes or who would otherwise be unable to attend - apply here by 6th April.
Open Book aims to be a safe space for all our participants and Lead Readers. This means our groups should be a place in which everyone feels welcome, respected and comfortable. We ask that you follow CARE (confidentiality, attention, respect, enjoy) and agree to the Safe Spaces Framework each time you join a session. You can read the Space Spaces Framework here.
This group also adheres to the Scottish BPOC Writers Network (SBWN) Safer Spaces policy, which can be read here.
Please note: due to demand we ask that you please only book two (2) creative writing sessions per month. Bookings are monitored and any additional creative writing bookings will be cancelled.
Participants who arrive 15+ minutes late may not be admitted.
No experience necessary, ages 18+
