Digital Transformation Service (DTS) within the Department of Finance & Personnel has been tasked with developing and implementing an Open Data Strategy for Northern Ireland.
This event is an opportunity to engage with the public sector representatives who are responsible for creating the strategy. You will hear details about the strategy and the plans for implementing it and through the facilitated feedback sessions you will have a chance to comment and give your opinions on the way forward for the strategy.
There will also be a presentation on the results of a recently held (December 2014) public questionnaire on Open Data in Northern Ireland. The survey was conducted in order to gauge the appetite for what types and formats of NI government Open Data that people were most interested in to help inform the work of the Open Data team in DTS.
There will be a presentation on the NI Innovation Strategy and Translink will give a presentation on the data that they intend to release as Open Data. There will also be a presentation from the NI Council for Voluntary Action on an Open Data project that they have initiated which will use the power of information to allow the voluntary and community sector in NI to better support people most in need.
