This month we have a few developments to catch up on since the last Open Data Sheffield, and some great opportunities to share for data innovators, analysts, entrepreneurs and actvists over the summer.
If you have something to add to or share on the programme, get in touch.
Hack the City - the Housing Challenge
The next Hack the City is 16 Aug and in anticipation we'll preview some of the datasets and ideas for the Housing Challenge theme, which also supports the upcoming Open Data Challenge Series competition run by Nesta and the Open Data Institute.
Better with Data Project Opportunities
Previewing a couple of the upcoming Better With Data projects to help public and private organisations to engage more effectively with the open data community, including data analysts and entrepreneurs. There's an opportunity to feed into feature requirements and delivery plans.
We're interested in meeting designers and developers who may want to work with us to deliver the projects.
The Rutland Arms is open from noon and serving food as well as fine beverages. We'll be gathering upstairs from 6pm for registration and pre-meeting chat. We'll kick off from 6:15pm. We'll wrap up by 8pm.
Open Data Sheffield is a regular meetup for anyone interested in using data to create new products and services and to improve the public sector and transparency. The diverse community gathers on the third Monday of every month.
Anyone is welcome who has an interest in unlocking the social and economic value of public data, presenting meaningful ways to reveal the underlying stories behind policy making and public sector performance or wants to help local bodies engage with the community to create and publish coherent and useful open data.
