'Introduction to Radiology' Open Day - Monday 10th November 2025
This exciting event aims to provide an insight into a career in Radiology and give helpful tips for the competitive application and interview process. The event is aimed at Resident Doctors and all medical students who may wish to consider a career in Radiology. Over the course of the event, sessions will comprise of talks highlighting how far Radiology has come, what it’s like to be a Radiologist, training, the application process and what the future holds. The winner of the 2024 poster presentation was Dr Aakankska. Dr Hussain & Dr Ibrahim received 'highly commended'. These can be viewed on the South West Imaging Training Academy website.
By submitting a poster you are agreeing for this to be displayed on the Academy website.
The poster should demonstrate: “A radiological case which inspired me to consider Radiology as a career”. Delegates wishing to participate must declare their intention to enter the poster competition at the point of application and attend the Open Day. Posters must be PDF, portrait, explaining the background to the case and why it was inspirational to them.
Requirements for the poster:
A1 sized posters
Certficates presented to the top two posters, as judged by our panel
Posters will be displayed throughout the day (please anonymise any patient identifiable information)
All posters need to be submitted in pdf format by Monday 3rd November to plh-tr.sw-imagingacademy@nhs.net (posters submitted after this date will not be accepted)
Refreshments and lunch will be provided on the day, if you have any dietary requirements please ensure you detail this on your booking form or email plh-tr.sw-imagingacademy@nhs.net as soon as possible as last minute arrangements cannot be made.
