Event Information
About this event
Burton & South Derbyshire College open days are a chance for you to explore the campus, find out about the courses we offer, the support you can expect to receive and gain an understanding of what it’s like to be a student at our Burton Town Centre Campus.
Plan your day with our Open Day Activities:
• Change It Up Talk – Learn about opportunities available to you at BSDC
• Tour the campus and all its facilities with former Touch FM presenter Mark O’Sullivan
• Informal chats with tutors and students
• Live demonstrations and have a go opportunities
• Book a 1-2-1 appointment with our advice and guidance team
Attend the ‘Change It Up’ talk
Make time during your day to stop by the lecture theatre and discover why BSDC is such a great place to learn with our short but insightful talk. This 10-minute talk will give you an overview of how the college supports students to ensure they are career ready by providing state of the art facilities and developing successful links with leading businesses. You’ll also get a glimpse of some of the new developments that will be happening over the next year!
Tour the campus and facilities
Former Touch FM presenter Mark O’Sullivan will guide you on a fun tour around the campus with support from college staff helping to answer questions along the way. Tours will run every hour, so please come along to see where you will study come September and see the facilities the college has to offer.
Chat with tutors and students
Tutors and students will be available to chat informally about industry areas and your career aspirations. Discover how you’ll learn, your career prospects, opportunities available to you and what it’s like to be a student here at BSDC.
Access support and advice
Our careers advisors and progress coaches will be on hand to help with any questions you might have in relation to finance, wellbeing, managing your studies or help deciding which course is right for you.
On the day you will have the opportunity to book a personal 1-2-1 session with an adviser or you can choose to book an appointment at a later date to suit you.
Find time to enrol
We have a dedicated area set up, with support staff available for quick and easy access to enrolment based in our Learner Resource Centre. Please ask a member of the team to guide you if you are unsure.
If you have any inclusion needs (SEND) or require any additional support during your visit, please email marketing@bsdc.ac.uk or make a member of staff aware on the day so that we can best support you.
We look forward to welcoming you to Burton & South Derbyshire College!
