About this event

Brompton Cemetery is the home of several notable 19th century and later artists, along with their models and art critics, plus some significant connoisseurs whose collections have enriched London's famous galleries. Hear graveside accounts of the human interactions between them all and see illustrations of their work.

Meet in front of the Chapel in Brompton Cemetery.

On-the-day tickets. Subject to availability, a small number of tickets will be available for purchase on the day at the North Lodge Information Centre at cost of £5. However, we strongly recommend that you book online in order to avoid disappointment. **Please note that if you buy tickets for this particular tour on the day, you should allow sufficient time to purchase your tickets at the North Lodge before walking to the tour starting point in front of the Chapel (approximately 10 minutes).**

Car Parking. There is no public parking available at Brompton Cemetery for our tours and events. Blue Badge holders may request a short-term permit at least three business days in advance of the tour or event by specifying:- The time and name of the tour or event they wish to attend.- The make, model and registration of their vehicle.- The name of the driver and their contact details (mobile number and email address).Please direct your request to events@brompton-cemetery.org.uk

Friends of Brompton Cemetery is a registered charity working to preserve and promote the historic Cemetery for today's community. We help to maintain the cemetery's buildings, monuments and landscape, and offer guided tours, an Information Centre and a varied programme of events and activities. We are all volunteers and appreciate your support.

How much does the tour cost?

Tickets are £5 per person plus Evenbrite's booking fee. Refunds (less booking fee) are available up to 1 day before the tour. Tickets may be available on the day.

How accessible is the tour?

All the paths are paved or firm, and level, so the walking is easy. There is some optional exploring around the graves to view the monuments more closely.

Are there cafe and toilet facilities?

Yes, there is a cafe opposite the North Lodge Information Centre where we meet, which sells drinks and light snacks, and has toilet facilities for the public to use. There are also toilets at the Chapel.

Is there car parking?

No, there is no parking at the Cemetery. Please consult Parkopedia. Blue Badge holders may request short-term parking by writing to events@brompton-cemetery.org.uk as described above.

Who are the Friends of Brompton Cemetery?

The Friends of Brompton Cemetery work to preserve & promote the Cemetery as an historic site with a modern role. We help to maintain the cemetery's buildings, monuments & landscape, & encourage its use by the community. We offer guided tours, an Information Centre and other events.
