About this event
Brompton Cemetery is not just a place for the dead. It is full of life too, and in this fascinating tour you will gain a unique insight into the history, roles and stories surrounding the trees in the Cemetery.
Your volunteer guide, Roy Vickery, is an experienced researcher and lecturer on plant folklore. Following his career as a botanist at the Natural History Museum, he continues to serve as a Scientific Associate there. He has also held significant senior roles at the South London Botanical Institute and the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland. He has collected, and written about, trees and plant folklore for over four decades, producing some 130 publications on plantlore. We are very lucky to have him lead this tour!
