Discover the world of the archive with talks and special tours that will take you to places not usually open to the public.

Conservation Tour. Find out about the fascinating work which preserves our shared history for the future. Visit our purpose built strongrooms and see our conservation studio in action.

Sound Studio Tour. Discover over 70 years of London's sonic history currently being digitised by LMA as part of the Unlocking our Sound Heritage project. Recorded on formats like cassette, open reel and MiniDisc, our sound collections include oral histories, world music and performing arts. Join us behind the scenes for an exclusive tour of our purpose-built sound studio.

Talk: Resurgam - A History of London in Maps

Using a seminal collection of newly digitised and georectified historic maps this talk will chart the cycles of growth, destruction and rebirth that have characterised London’s history over five centuries.

Layers of London brings together, for the first time, a seminal collection of digitised historic maps, photos and crowd-sources histories provided by the public and key partners across London. Come along to find out more about this resource and the stories it can tell.

Talk: Early Years of Photography Photography changed the way London and Londoners were recorded and portrayed. This talk will like at the people and places in the collections at LMA.
