Open House London 2016
Sun 18 September 2016, 10:00 – 17:00 BST
Open House London is the capital's largest annual festival of architecture and design. Now in its 24th year, it is a city-wide celebration of the buildings, places, and neighbourhoods where we live and work.
1 Greek Street is a Grade I Listed Georgian townhouse in London notable for its rococo plasterwork interiors. The House of St Barnabas is a charity that has operated from this building since 1862, helping those in necessitous circumstances.
The charity's current model is to run a social enterprise, a not-for-profit members' club with an integrated Employment Academy, helping those who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion back into lasting paid work.
Aside from monthly tours, the House is usually open to our members only, making this a rare chance to take a peek inside at the grand Georgian interiors and discover the House's long history. Whilst you’re enjoying the beautiful surroundings of our Georgian townhouse, why not take a moment and join us for a cup of tea and cake in the hidden courtyard garden.
This is also a perfect opportunity to discover more about our innovative charity and its social business model, as well as taking in The Collective, our own programme of contemporary visual art that showcases the work of emerging and established artists, conceived to inspire and uplift.
If you are no longer able to attend then please cancel and return your ticket in advance. Regrettably, due to the nature of our building there is limited disabled access; please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
