Join us for a hands-on design day: exploring a growing field of activity where opportunities to learn are embedded in place.
First Hand Design Day will bring together changemakers from local government, local business, place stewards, education and community networks who are driving climate, skills and social value agendas on the ground.
What we’ll do:
- Explore learning as critical infrastructure for change: what we need and how we can build it.
- Hear examples from practice: across real-world, local initiatives in circular economy, food, energy, and retrofit.
- Unpack the toolkit: how to shape place-based, hands-on, collaborative learning from open days to secondments.
- Address a shared challenge: what’s our blueprint for learning as a critical infrastructure for accelerating climate skills and action?
You’ll leave with:
- Clarity on our collective learning and skills challenge and how you might address it
- Real examples of learning formats and models that are working now for your peers
- New ideas to test in your organisation, sector, discipline or neighbourhood
- Connections with other changemakers who are building capability for sustainable futures.
Full agenda and speakers will be released on 3rd November. Expect a day of panels, peer exchange, hands-on workshops and collaborative sessions (with optional pre-meet/Brixton-based First Hand walking tour and post-drinks).
