Join us for our open mic evening of: Boundaries Visible and Invisible

On Tuesday 19th August, by kind invitation, Story Forge will be hosted at Thundercliffe Grange.

This August we will be exploring boundaries; seasonal, geographical, political, geological, familial, and intuitive. If you would like to tell a story we would love to hear it! It does not need to be linked to the theme of the evening. The story should be rehearsed and up to ten minutes long. Book a slot to tell when you arrive. If you prefer to listen you are very welcome, because our tellers love to have an audience.

Had you realized Thundercliffe Grange stands in the transition between North and South of England? Between Celt and Roman worlds? Between Kimber worth and Ecclesfield?!

Thundercliffe Grange overlooks Blackburn Brook, an ancient boundary runs thro its grounds, and due south is Wincobank, an ancient fort: Roman roads converge beneath it. We will be here at harvest home time: the end of one year, and beginning of a new: one door closes, the next one opens...

We will be outside. Wear stout shoes and bring rugs, portable chairs, parasols, etc. If rain stops play, our hosts will open up their events room indoors. Refreshments will be provided.

We meet from 7.00 p.m. and start telling stories from 7.30pm.

Suggested donation £5. You can book your ticket now but we also expect to have plenty of tickets on the door.Hope to see you there.

Meeting every third tuesday of the month we are the only spoken word night in Sheffield with the focus of traditional folktales, myths and legends. We are oral storytellers and encourage all participants to drop their paper and tell us their story with their hearts and faces.
