Open Minds Birmingham
Event Information
About this Event
Being Punjabi and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or Queer (LGBTQ) can be challenging.
Punjabi culture can be conservative in its attitudes to sexuality, and shame and fear can make it a difficult topic to discuss openly.
The Open Minds project is a joint initiative between Taraki (Taraki.uk) and Sarbat (Sarbat.net) to provide a safe space for Punjabi LGBTQ people to support each other. It's a space to chat and listen with people who understand your culture.
The aim is for the group to meet monthly or every 2 months in a central location in Birmingham.
If you're interested in attending or might be able to help organise or run the group, please come along to our first meeting to find out more.
If you are interested but can't make it, feel free to email us your thoughts or questions at Khulamana@gmail.com
We look forward to meeting you.
