Event description
This event will include talks and discussions about the use of electronic lab notebooks in the research process and beyond.

About this Event

Whilst lots of the research process has gone online, lab notebooks remain stubbornly analogue in many disciplines. Electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) can enable data to be copied directly from instruments and facilitate searching and collaboration, but they also come with their own challenges of interoperability and preservation. This conversation will explore the practical uses of ELNs in the research process and beyond, and whether they can help researchers in a range of subjects to validate and share data and conclusions.

Speakers will include:

  • Prof Endre Kiss-Toth, Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease
  • Alice Seleiro, Clinical Dentistry

This event is part of a series of Open Research Conversations facilitated by The University of Sheffield Library, which include talks from researchers and other experts to share their experiences, promote best practices and discuss the challenges they are facing.
