Visit the Jelly studios for an opportunity to see artist in residence Laurence Tidy at work and find out more about the processes he uses in his practice.

Laurence Tidy is an artist based in Brighton and Hove. He is a final year undergraduate student in Fine Art Painting at the University of Brighton. His current artistic practice is focussed on assemblage, intervening in found objects and combining materials, photographs, and paint.

To allow our workshops to be accessible to all we are able to offer our workshops for a nominal fee and we have a limited number of free places for each session.

Frequently asked questions

Where are you based?

Our studios are located within Broad St Mall. You can find us on the first floor. We are the last unit before the toilets and exit to the carpark. If you get lost please ask any Broad St Mall security guard and they will direct you.

If I cannot make my paid workshop, can I transfer my ticket to another event or get a refund?

We offer refunds if you contact us at least 7 days before the event. After this, they are unavailable. Within 48 hours, you can ask about our waiting list, and we’ll try to transfer your ticket. As a charity, we keep ticket prices low and offer ‘pay what you can’ and donation option

Can I arrive early?

Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before the workshop to allow our host time to set up and create a welcoming space. If you'd like to see the space beforehand, we can provide photos or arrange a visit. We want you and your family to feel comfortable and excited about the experience!
