Open Water Swimming | Interactive Presentation

You always wanted to try open water swimming but never had the opportunity or courage?

Or you are an experienced outdoor swimmer but would like to hear a bit more about how to stay safe?

The RNLI's Water Safety Team is offering a free interactive Water Safety session open to anyone aged >16.

We will discuss in general terms, the risks associated with swimming in open water and/or cold temperatures. The session will also include:

• The special circumstances that exist in the Bristol Channel

• How to minimize the risks of swimming accidents

• How to make your swims as safe as possible

• What equipment is recommended to use

• Special guest: Ice and long distance swimmer John Myatt

The session will be delivered by members of the Water Safety Team and the Lifeboat Crew who are all open water swimmers themselves and have a range of relevant skills and experience on the topic.
