Event description

Description

Our monthly evening workshops are our highly affordable offer for everyone who wants to develop and grow, both professionally and personally.

Held at a central London location after work, all workshops are delivered by experienced trainers and coaches in a friendly, interactive and informal setting, which provides you with the perfect opportunity to learn, reflect and practise and most importantly, decide on how you can implement what you have learned.

You will walk away with new clarity, lots of food for thought, an action plan and new contacts.

The Impact Of Words

Do you sometimes say things that are deemed inappropriate by others? Do you have difficulty understanding why that might be? Do you see Diversity & Inclusion as someone else’s issue? In this workshop, you will begin to understand how others might perceive your words, how to gauge the appropriate nature of certain comments and how to value the difference that each person brings through his and her unique experience and background.

During the workshop you will:

• Learn the meaning of empathy and how to get it

• Learn how our assumptions impact how we see and judge others, rightly or wrongly

•Learn to test our comments for appropriateness before they’re made

• Learn the meaning of diversity in its broadest sense and how it applies to each of us

• Engage in exercises that demonstrate the impact of judging comments

By the end of the workshop you will:

• Gain a clearer understanding of the impact of your words

• Have learned a simple practical way that will guide you to make more appropriate statements

• Understand how underlying assumptions shape our perception of others and lead to rash judgments

• Commit to at least one action to mitigate the urge to judge others by our own standards.

Your Trainer: Rina Goldenberg Lynch

Rina Goldenberg Lynch

Rina has 20 years of experience as a lawyer. Having started her legal career in Washington DC, she then worked as a banking lawyer with Clifford Chance LLP in London and as a Director in the legal department of ING Bank London.

In her tenure as chair of the employee body, Rina observed that most leaders failed to realise the full potential of their colleagues, leaving untapped much talent, dedication and commitment. In addition, as mentor to women, she also experienced that, with support and encouragement, women’s self-belief soared, enabling them to clear unhelpful assumptions about themselves and achieve new goals.

Equipped with these realisations, and using her skills as lawyer, trainer, negotiator and mentor, Rina expanded her expertise to inclusive leadership, gender diversity and team strategy and engagement.

Rina is also an AOEC-qualified Executive Coach
