The Association of Architectural Educators (AAE) 2023 Conference aims to bring together architectural academics, students, practitioners and built environment stakeholders to collectively question the productive/disruptive capacity of ‘gaps’ between architectural education, architectural practice, and current social, economic and environmental challenges.

"Many of us tried to answer why the architecture course is so far away from the real world. However, a question about why the real world of architecture is so far away from the imagination and the creativity of the architecture course could be posed too.'' (WSA MArch1 student reflection)

The opening night Summit is predominantly a platform for students and practitioners and free to attend. RIBA President Elect Muyiwa Oki, and RSAW President Elect Dan Benham invite questions in advance and will be joined in conversation by Charlie Edmonds, Civic Square and Future Architects Front; Sarah Ackland, muf architecture, who's PhD research highlights issues relating to gender and equality in the city and public space; and Wajiha “Jia” Afsar, a socially conscious leader within the urban and tech sector, focused on intersectional climate action.
