Event description

Description

Opening up: engaging with the public on animal research

Aim of the day

This workshop is for those whose work involves the use of animals in research, and who want to feel more confident to talk about it with those outside the lab.

Session information

In these days of information talking about our work with members of the public is more important than ever. It is often required by employers and funders, but when your day to day work is controversial that can be difficult. It is hard to know what people will think, what sorts of things they might have heard and how to answer those awkward questions. If people disagree with your work how can you respond to them? How do you make a judgement about when to talk about what you do and when to keep quiet?

Course notes and other supporting materials will be made available to participants online after the workshop.

Refreshments: Provided

Cost: £ 325 + VAT

Training is free for up to four people from UAR member organisations, per year.
