TechHub is excited to be hosting a hands on Openshift hands on container session. Containerisation is one of the key themes in early stage idea development and testing, right through to highly available, highly scalable systems.

Come and join in our hands-on container development session 6th December to be given a FREE taster of how you can adopt this tech to suit your project needs. Chat with the experts over a coffee afterwards.

You will need to come prepared to make the most of the session so please read the details below:

11:00 Welcome and introduction

11:10 Red Hat - Introduction to Containers and OpenShift 15-20 minute presentation to set the scene for a live demo of OpenShift. (Mark Sutton)

11:30 Red Hat - OpenShift Live Demo 30 minute live demo of OpenShift

12:00 Lunch

1pm Red Hat - Introduction to Container Development Kit and hands-on session 15-20 minute introduction to CDK, how to get it and how to get first app(s) up and running, opportunity to try Openshift Food, drink and networking As Long as attendees wish!

For those of you wishing to take part in our hands-on container development session after lunch at Tech Hub on the 6th December, you will need to have the Container Development Kit pre-installed on your laptop. Please note that a valid Red Hat Customer Portal account is required to download the software and receive an entitlement to subscribe the OpenShift system with Red Hat. Mark Sutton, Solution Architect, Red Hat.

Mark has been a user of Red Hat products and technology for the last 19 years. He has worked in the UK managed and cloud service provider environments for much of this time and has broad experience delivering IaaS and PaaS solutions into enterprise and the public sector. His current role is to help customers discover, innovate and solve business challenges using Red Hat products and technology, with a focus on Hybrid Cloud, Infrastructure/Platform as a Service and containers.

Mustafa Musaji, Solution Architect Red Hat.

Mustafa has been with Red Hat for about 6 years. His current role is to support customers technically and innovate new solutions using Red Hat products and Open source development. This includes JBoss EAP/WildFly as a traditional Application Server or in an PaaS infrastructure as well as other middleware technologies such as OpenShift and Mobile.

Richard Barbosa, Account Executive Red Hat.

I have been with Red Hat for almost 13 years and have seen a huge change in that time, from Linux through to the middleware area and now in the latest developments in containers and software-defined areas. I have spent over 5 years of that time working within public sector on open source strategies.
