Event description

Are you seeking to create a work-culture based on integrity, collaboration and sustainable success?

Have you experienced the power of Open Space Technology, and are you looking for more of that same spirit in your daily working experience?

Do you want to be on the leading edge of business transformation?

Join our circle in Amsterdam on June 11-12, 2019 for a 2-day deep dive into

  • the true essence of business agility

  • structures that liberate people to be the best they can be and

  • ways of working together that are joyful, meaningful, and create results we can be proud of - long term!

For the first time, we are bringing together two holistic approaches to business transformation, which are both anchored in Open Space Technology: OpenSpace Agility and Genuine Contact are combined into a single workshop. And we are excited!

Why this is relevant

One of the most vital tasks for leaders, coaches, facilitators, and HR professionals, is to provide processes and structures that allow people to thrive.

More and more employees desire human and self-organising ways of working. Leaders seek ways of evoking flexibility and employee engagement to succeed in rapidly changing markets. Agile has become a buzz and seems to provide the solution.

But there is a gap between the desire to reap the benefits of Agile, and the willingness and capacity to bring it about for real, according to the principles of the Agile Manifesto.

We all know the problems that result from the “push of change.” OSA solves these problems by employing a “pull” approach based on invitation and opt-in, at-will, voluntary participation. OSA is ideal for starting new change initiatives, and can be used to re-evaluate, re-make and re-start your existing program in service to great results.

When you use OSA for organizational change, you’ll be in good company. Well-known brands such as Adobe, Intuit, and Capital One bank, and dozens of smaller enterprises have achieved great results using Open Space Agility and Open Space to create rapid, positive and lasting change.

OpenSpace Agility™ (OSA) is a repeatable technique for getting a rapid, genuine and lasting Agile adoption. OSA can be used to effectively introduce any kind of change into any kind of organization. It works with what you are currently doing, and can be added at any time. OSA is used to actively engage as many employees as possible in your Agile program.

OpenSpace Agility encourages very high levels of human engagement. It incorporates the power of invitation, iteration, Open Space, game mechanics, passage rites, storytelling and more…so that real and authentic change in your organization can actually take root.

The Open Space meeting format is a primary tool of OpenSpace Agility. The OpenSpace Agility method leverages the amazing power of iteration and the Open Space meeting format to help you get genuine and lasting success with your Agile adoption program.

For executive leaders, OSA is an Employee Engagement Model and A-B-C template that operationalizes the core values of Lean, namely: respect for people, and continuous improvement.

For leaders who are truly committed to these values, OSA represents a simple, effective and very efficient way forward.

Genuine Contact (GC) is an approach to organizational development that supercharges the work you are already doing. You use simple but very effective means that lead to genuine contact really fast: people with themselves, with each other, and with the purpose of the work at hand.

With Genuine Contact people access collective intelligence and co-creativity. They get to better solutions faster, both for everyday issues as well as complex challenges. Teams build naturally as a by-product of working towards business goals. Productivity increases alongside job satisfaction.

The Genuine Contact Program is a means to create a culture of leadership. Everyone (not just the formal leaders) is invited to take leadership within the givens of the organization. The GCP allows leaders maximum freedom and choice for adjustment to the unique situation of their organization and the culture of leadership they wish to establish.

What is the invitation?

The 2-day OSA meets GC learn/play/workshop:
With Daniel Mezick, Marai Kiele and Richard Metcalf, June 11-12, 2019

Always on a search to integrate and combine the best of different worlds, when Marai meet Daniel and OSA, something clicked.

Marai / Germany, Genuine Contact trainer & consultant since 2005, began envisioning what transformations can become possible on a large scale by combining OSA and GC in organisations.

Asking her colleague Richard / Netherlands, Agile Consultant and Genuine Contact trainer to join seemed like the logical next step. In his own words: “Over the past 2-3 years, I have started bringing Genuine Contact together with Agile methods in my professional work, and it’s already making sparks fly!”

Seizing the opportunity that Daniel / USA, originator of OpenSpace Agility and lead-author of the OpenSpace Agility Handbook is coming to Europe, a team formed to contribute to Agile for Real.

And the rest is… not yet ;-) … history!
