Opera-makers Speed Dating w/ Ruth Mariner of The Librettist's Network

A networking event for current and aspiring opera-makers from BAME backgrounds to meet potential collaborators. Librettists, playwrights, composers, music-makers, directors and producers interested in working in opera and exploring what the form can be are invited to join us for what we hope will be an energising day of connection and conversation.

Led by Director and founder of The Librettist's Network Ruth Mariner, the day will finish with an opportunity to pitch, and receive feedback on, your idea for an opera.

Ruth is Artistic Director of Gestalt Arts, a company using music theatre to explore, unite and celebrate unique places and peoples. Gestalt's work is visually-led combining opera with physical theatre, street theatre and carnival. In 2017, Gestalt Arts won the Amati Global Investors Entrepreneurship Prize, The Stephen Oliver Award and an Opera Awards Foundation Bursary.
