Event description

LEAN thinking is well developed in public and commercial sector organisations and is an accepted way of organising work to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction through simplification and standardisation. It focuses on creating value and capacity.

This MasterClass provides an overview to the principles and techniques associated with improving efficiency through LEAN thinking.

To illustrate how this might be applied in their organisations, delegates will explore a model comprising the ‘7 Wastes of LEAN’, the ‘6 Process Truths’, ‘5 LEAN principles’, ‘4 LEAN laws’ and ‘3 rules for organisational redesign’.

The importance of the customer’s viewpoint will be emphasised and examples provided to work with and discuss.

Delegates will be introduced to the techniques of, Kanban, Kaizen and Agile to demonstrate LEAN thinking in different environments including software development.
