Our first speaker is Ali Hussnain, from Madgex a Brighton based company .
Madgex is a market leader in career technology. Madgex has offices based across the globe including the States and Canada and is part of the global publishing technology giant Wiley . They have been providing advanced job board and recruitment technology to clients for over 20years working with the world’s leading media brands and organisations in 10 languages and 14 countries. Named in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work.For the last few years, they have been investing in their Data Science function to leverage applications of machine learning.
Ali graduated in Astrophysics from the University of Edinburgh and now works as a data science product owner at Madgex; specialising in managing teams of data scientists, engineers and analysts.
Our Second speaker is Till Buchacher from Direct Line Group:
Direct Line Group is an established giant in the UK insurance market known for our iconic brands, such as Direct Line , Churchill and GreenFlag. DLG was founded in ’85 as the first UK insurer to sell directly to customers via phone. The direct insurance concept stuck and over the course of the next 37 years DLG grew into a FTSE250 company with more than ten thousand employees delivering premium service to well over 4.5 million customers in the UK. Over the course of the past few years, DLG has been investing heavily in data and technology and is now sporting state-of-the-art cloud native analytics and data science platforms.
Till is Head of Data Science at Direct Line Group he obtained an MSc in Medical Physics at the University of Surrey. After obtaining the MSc, he joined the National Physical Laboratory. Throughout his academic path, he has done both experimental and simulation work with solid expertise in Monte Carlo and Finite Elements. After finishing his doctorate, he moved into Data Science in the automotive industry and earth observation thereafter. Since 2019 he has worked at Direct Line Group
