Event description

Description

Thank you for your interest in this roundtable discussion on “Optimising High Performance Computing in Financial Services - Cloud? Colo? Bare Metal? Hybrid?” hosted by The Realization Group and Verne Global.

This discussion will explore the options, and key considerations, for the future of high performance and grid computing within financial services.

  • In what areas are high performance and grid computing best aiding computational workloads within financial services?

  • What are the various options for deployment and what are their pros and cons?

  • What are the performance considerations of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (virtualised) versus bare metal (physical), particularly regarding the underlying hardware stack?

  • How should the types of jobs being run influence infrastructure decisions?

  • How can containers and microservices, and tools such as Docker & Kubernetes, be used to best effect in an HPC environment?

Mike O’Hara from The Realization Group will facilitate the discussion, with participation from:

  • Matt Barrett, Director at Adaptive
  • Andy Grant, Vice President, HPC & Big Data at Atos
  • Tate Cantrell, Chief Technology Officer at Verne Global
