Gaelic writing from the Bible to the Stage

With 2017 marking the 250th anniversary of the publication of the New Testament in Gaelic, Dr Sheila Kidd from the University of Glasgow explores the development of Gaelic writing which followed this. The talk draws on periodicals and newspapers from Scotland, Canada and Tasmania, and touches on clearance, emigration, land rights and education. A small exhibition of texts from the Library's collections accompanies the talk.
