All Together Smiling is a Cheshire and Merseyside wide supervised toothbrushing programme supporting children aged 2-7 living in the 20% most deprived communities. The programme, funded by NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, is hosted by beyond, the children and young people’s transformation programme, working closely with public health , oral health and education leads across all nine local authority areas.

This training is delivered by City Health Care Partnerships CIC on behalf of the All Together Smiling programme. The aim of the training is to provide awareness of the importance of oral health for children, young people, and families along with useful resources and education of the four All Together Smiling evidence-based oral health key messages:

Children under the age of 7 should -

  • Brush twice a day
  • Use family fluoride toothpaste (1450ppm)
  • Spit don’t rinse after brushing
  • Be supervised by an adult while they brush their teeth

The objectives of the training are to:

  • Increase knowledge of basic oral health principles and the importance of oral health
  • Enable wider communication of oral health key messages
  • Promote effective use of oral health packs and large-scale distribution
  • Enhance engagement with targeted communities and uptake of supervised toothbrushing
