This workshop is open to anyone at any level and will give you the knowledge and insight into creating YOUR cover design for YOUR book. It could be your first time designing a cover, you might be a student, graduate, or currently working on a project that you need cover design help with.

HOUR 1

Art director and designer, Ness will discuss her individual approach to cover design, based on her experience working in publishing for many years. Ness will guide you through the different approaches and key elements to think about that are often used when creating a cover. Maisie will share some of her industry experiences working as an illustrator with designers on her book covers.

HOUR 2

You will work on your own cover idea using the design information gained.

HOUR 3

This will be an opportunity to reflect on the cover ideas you have created.

FEEDBACK will be given on your cover design idea. We will ask you to email your design after the workshop. This is a great opportunity to get feedback from industry professionals.

You will need paper and something to draw/scribble with/take notes with! You can work on computer or on paper
