Orchard Pruning at Riverside
Overview
Our small orchard at Macclesfield Riverside Park needs maintaining to help keep the Apple and Pear trees healthy and bearing lots of fruit for our local residents and wildlife.
This year, local community group Macc Wild, who have been providing local schools with free orchard trees, have organised a trainer from the Manchester Fruit Tree Cooperative to help us prune the trees. We will be pooling our knowledge to help you learn the best ways to prune and maintain healthy, fruit-bearing trees.
This time, we will be splitting our time and pruning trees at two sites, Riverside Park and Rowans Care Home, another site that has benefitted from fruit trees planted by Food4Macc.
