Description

A workshop to learn about the pests and diseases commonly found in orchards and how to treat them using organic and holistic methods, including ways to attract beneficial predators and maximise tree health. Q&A about your orchard troubles at the Orchard Doctor's surgery.

Led by national expert Clifford Cain from Fruitscape.

WORKSHOP CONTENT:
  • Pests and diseases slide show and presentation
  • Walk about the garden, looking at the health of nearby fruit trees and discussion on general orchard health and care.
  • Orchard Doctor's Surgery. An informal discussion on problems you are having in your orchard. Please bring photos samples of unhealthy orchard trees or plants (please keep these in a sealed bag or tub).
  • Refreshments will be provided.


The event is free to anyone who is a volunteer in a community orchard or garden, the general public are very welcome at a subsidised ticket price of £11.37

Where is the garden? Between Coplaw Street and

Butterbiggins Road - find us off Coplaw Street, in at the

entrance to Govanhill Housing Association (where the old

Samaritan Women’s Hospital was). Go right through the

car park and the garden is at the back through the gate.
