Ordnance Survey - Innovation Challenge
Event Information
Description
The innovation challenge to busineses of all types and sizes:
Develop ubiquitous, high accuracy positioning solutions
and WIN a place in a comprehensive 6-month incubation programme supported by the UK Space Agency.
Context: The application of raw GNSS data from Android devices, together with GNSS-based augmentation such as OS Net, will enable a vast number of users to benefit from enhanced positioning services. However, to date the market has been slow to react, with only one publicly-available application that exploits the raw GNSS measurements; a RINEX logger for Android from GEO++.
We at OS think that millions of cheap devices with the capability to log their position with high accuracy could be a game-changer that unlocks a raft of new business opportunities. We are delighted to sponsor this challenge to help UK business take a lead in defining and exploiting these opportunities.
We would like to encourage you, the entrepreneurs and innovators, to explore possible use-cases and develop solutions that utilise the Android raw GNSS signals. We will support you with GNSS-focused technical advice and offer market insights relating to existing applications of high-accuracy GNSS.
[1] This is the term Android have used to describe the measurement parameters available from the device, they are not baseband IQ.
Come to this unique event: Meet the expert challengers. Get details on how to make a winning response. Understand OS datasets, specialist tools and technical support. Network with others in this sector.
Multiple winners join the OI Space Incubator - receiving 6-months of research support, entrepreneurial workshops, free workspace, an University of Southampton intern full funded for 10 weeks, visits to Harwell hosted by UK Space Agency, and much more.
