This year, 2025, our Northesk Parish Church organ celebrates its 120th anniversary. To mark this milestone, our organist, Jeonghee Min, will present two special recitals on Saturday afternoons this autumn.

The first recital, at 2.30 pm on Saturday 6 September, invites you on a timeless musical journey with a varied programme ranging from Vivaldi to ABBA. A special organ arrangement of The Four Seasons will be performed as a tribute to the seasons the Northesk organ has lived through, and the many more yet to come. Simon Fairnie will also give a short talk on the organ’s place in the story of the church, and a folk-song singalong with the Northesk Choir will be a highlight not to be missed!

The second recital, Songs of Hope and Remembrance: from Miserere to Tears in Heaven”, takes place at 2.30 pm on Saturday 1 November. In the lead-up to Remembrance Week, the programme brings together music of lament, songs offering comfort in times of loss, and works that proclaim eternal victory over death — each sung in its own time and place.

Tea and coffee will be served after each recital.

Admission is free, with donations warmly welcomed. Please come along and celebrate with us — we would love to see you there!
