Event description

Description

It's no secret that Cacao is considered to be one of our most precious superfoods.

It's also no coincidence that the Cacao plant has been used for thousands of years as a stimulant, relaxant, a recreational party drug, a tool to connect with self and with community, enhance creativity, a sacrificial gift to countless gods and godesses, considered to be so valuable it had been used as currency and routinely prepared to treat minor ails.

The basic facts behind the science and folklore are that this beautiful and mysterious plant contains chemicals which our bodies love and need.

Packed with theobromine, high levels of magnesium, iron, calcium, omega fats, carotene, thiamin, riboflavin, magnesium, and sulfur...

Ever fallen in love? Phenethylamine is the chemical we produce when this happens to us... Guess what? Cacao is full of it.

Theobromine is both myocardial and is a vasodilator - simultneously increasing our hear rate and widening our capillaries and arteries. Highly detoxifying, Cacao allows an increase of blood flow to our bodies and our brains and is often called the 'Heart Opener'.

Whether you are spiritual, academic or otherwise, forget everything you think you know about chocolate and take yourself on a journey of self discovery with Cacao.

In this workshop you are invited to prepare your fresh, organic raw cacao drink in the traditional way and enjoy this ancient elixir in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Invite the cacao spirit in… invite intentions into your life and note them down. Then use the drink to support you in manifesting your goals through a relaxing guided 20 minute meditation. You might just surprise yourself...

Modern diets mean that we are used to intense processed and refined sugars, high levels of caffeine, nicotine and other stimulants. Please do not drink coffee, tea, cola or any other caffeinated drink before the workshop.

In some cases, ceremonial doses of Cacao can cause headaches or nausea. This is almost always harmless, however please check with yuor doctor if you think you might be susceptable to adverse reactions.

**If you take, or have ever taken any type of depression mediaction please consult your doctor before taking part in this workshop.

Cacao drinking can cause adverse affects on those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, suffer from any abnormal heart conditions, abnormal blood pressure, liver, kidney or stomach abnormality or disease. If you have any concerns about your health, please consult your doctor before taking part in this workshop.

Please do your own research into the affects of drinking raw cacao and make your own decision on the suitability of the workshop for you. Many studies show the benefits of Cacao to many of these conditions, including depression. However you must make your own judgement on the sources you take information from and how you practice your own self-care. Cheeky Cacao cannot be responsible for any adverse affects of this raw food product**
