HEALTH AND SAFETY EVENT - Organising and Managing a Safe, Successful and Secure Outdoor Event

Are you involved with the organisation and management of outdoor events? Whatever the size of your organisation, this will help you to identify key factors that need to be considered and managed in order to run a safe event. The speakers will help you to develop the knowledge and understanding you will need to do this. This event is suitable for any business operators or organisations that hold outdoor events either as fundraising or for profit, consultants or anyone with an interest in Health and Safety.

12:55-13:00 Introduction: (Chair)

13:00-13:30 The event guide: An explanation of “The Purple Guide” and its application to large and small events; reference will be made to other relevant guidance available. When safety advisory groups (SAG) may be appropriate.

13:30– 14:00 Crowd Safety / security: Crowd management / safe movement of people around the site, focusing on key area: front of stage, entry & exit points and safety barriers. The requirement for DBS checks for staff and SIA accredited stewards, briefing of security & stewards and communication on site.
