“Why roses for Macmillan?", you ask? Here’s why.
My late Gran-in-law, Mary, was famous for her beautiful roses, ‘Mind my roses!’ she’d call whenever her grandkids kicked a football too close to them.
And then there was my lovely neighbour, Anne. She’s the one who first asked me to fold an origami rose, as a gift for a friend performing in a theatre production. That little request is what sparked my love for making these flowers.
Sadly, both Mary and Anne were taken by cancer. So this workshop feels like the perfect way to honour them by teaching others to fold one of their favourites, while raising funds for a charity that supported them.
