Discover the quiet magic of paper folding in this hands-on origami workshop, where art meets mindfulness. Whether you're a total beginner or already folding cranes in your sleep, this session invites you to slow down, focus, and explore the beauty of transformation - one fold at a time.
Using just a single sheet of paper, you’ll learn to create elegant forms, different from the cranes and flowers that may come to mind when you think of the word "origami". Instead, you'll learn to channel your own creativity and create a unique art form under James' guidance. Along the way, you’ll tap into the meditative rhythm of folding, finding focus and calm in the process.
Origami is more than just paper art - it’s a practice in patience, presence, and play. Leave with a collection of handmade pieces and a fresh appreciation for what a simple square of paper can become.
As an origamist James has been honing his skills for over a decade. He specialises in folding striking abstract forms, and enjoys the process of discovering new ideas and approaches. James is influenced by the mathematically determinant nature of origami and utilises this during his creative process, allowing outcomes of folds to develop naturally. James’ recent works explore the progression and disruption of origami forms, driven by his belief that origami as an art form can be pushed further into conceptual spaces
