We’re holding our inaugural OS Developer event at the HUB in Westminster, London (click here to view a map) between 6pm – 9pm on Tuesday the 26th February and would like you to join us!
As an OS OpenSpace® user, you’ll be aware that the service enables developers to build simple or complex applications with maps that render fast, and are accurate. OS OpenSpace map data is based upon our world famous paper map series, which is familiar to many. The quality of our data in rural areas is unrivalled, meaning you can create applications with detailed information on the area, rather than providing just an overview.
We have just released OS OpenSpace v4.0, which supports mobile touch devices, meaning any website using OS OpenSpace can be viewed and panned on tablets and mobile devices, enhancing user experience and providing even more possibilities for web developers. The new functionality, such as kinetic mapping, enables smoother panning; and new touch screen functionality allows users of your website application to easily add markers, routes etc. using a tablet or mobile device.
We’re really excited about the improvements and look forward to demonstrating them to you, to get your feedback and to see which additional features, functionality and enhancements you’d like to see in the future. There will also be a chance to have a play with some of the code yourselves.
If OS OpenSpace is new to you or if you are unfamiliar and you want to learn more about the service, attending the event will also be of great benefit to you. We have tools (such as Web-Map Builder) that can do all of the hard work for those who are not used to creating code, so we’ll also cover this off too.
So if you’re in London on the 26th February and are interested in coming along, book your ticket now to avoid disappointment, as places are limited!
We look forward to seeing you there.
