(OU) GCRF one year on: Successes, surprise elections & future schemes
Fri 7 July 2017, 10:00 – 16:30 BST
The Open University invites you to an all-day event at our Milton Keynes Campus to share and discuss the Global Challenges Research Fund. With just over a year since its launch, and with the announcement of the general election in June, we want to explore what has been working up to now, what hasn’t, and how we can work more effectively to submit impact-driven, innovative new proposals. We are pleased to advise we will be joined by Sian Rowland, Senior Policy Manager at RCUK, who will bring us up to speed, outline what we can expect over the next 12 months within the new political landscape and answer any questions you may have.
The Open University will be presenting on Official Development Assistance Compliance. We have been successful in securing a number of GCRF grants, and are keen to share what we have learned so far. As a member of the Universities Alliance group, we welcome your input, and invite you to submit a (300 words) concept note via Survey Monkey outlining a session you would like to present on behalf of your institution. Speakers’ travel costs will be covered. Perhaps it relates to a successful project that is now underway? Or maybe you wish to share how you have built effective new partnerships in Low and Middle Income Countries? Or perhaps your institution has developed an innovative way to ensure the right academics are lined up in anticipation of specific calls? We would love to hear from you.
We look forward to seeing you there!
