Our Common Place: a community open mic fundraiser

We are more alike than we are different — in our joy, grief, celebrations and struggles. We are all interconnected with far more in common than we will ever realise and our capacity to feel and experience life in all its colour is something that connects us all.

Starting my next rev around the sun and closing off the first half of my twenties by hosting an open mic poetry & music night ! Bringing together my love for community and expression has been a longgg time coming. Join me on the evening of my 26th bday for a night of creative expression and connection(& music & drinksss !!)

Poetry, spoken word, and music are all welcomeee.

Bring your art if it feels right, otherwise your energy and presence is enough if you just want to sit and listen. The night will be as much about community as it will be performance 🌟

I will be using this event as an opportunity to fundraise for Gaza Infant Nutrition Alliance 🇵🇸

GINA is a non-profit organisation aiming to educate, support and facilitate women in Gaza to safely feed their babies. They work to raise awareness on the importance of breastfeeding and provide support in safe feeding practices for mothers, which is especially important in situations where formula feeding is unavailable or unsafe. They also offer infant feeding training for local healthcare workers, who can then better support women in breastfeeding, as well as providing direct essential nutrition aid to malnourished mothers in Gaza. Suchhh a beautiful charity carrying out such important work !!

All ticket sales will be donated directly.

Please get an eventbrite tick in advance so I am able to gage numbers for the night, but there will also be tickets available on the door.

Open mic:

Open mic begins @ 7pm.

If you would like to perform just drop me a message.

There will also be open mic sign ups on the night.

Space:

Corner New Cross, my fave local cafe, is kindly hosting the event in their space and will be serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the bar throughout the night!

They have a beautiful garden, which will be open before the open mic starts for some sunny summer evening vibes & music 🌞

There will be plenty of opportunities to grab some drinks and chat. If you are looking for some late Saturday night plans, I will be heading out in Peckham after to celebrate my birthday, feel free to join!
