About this event

The global pandemic has impacted everyone and everything in our city.

Through 8-16 October the city will be hosting a series of events themed on the subject of resilience and recovery from COVID-19. Ranging in topics from the role of property and construction in recovery, how can businesses prepare for winter and Brexit, what is the role for communities, what does this mean for the resilience to climate change in the next five years and culminating in the launch of the first iteration of the economic recovery plan for the city.

Events will be brought together in partnership with Festival of Ideas, Housing Festival, Bristol One City and Business West.

In 2015 Bristol was the European Green Capital. That title was awarded because of the strong environmental performance of the city up to that point and plans for the future. Since then the city has accelerated progress across a wide range of environmental aspects.

This event will be an opportunity to reflect and celebrate that progress and to share those plans with key partners in the city, helping to build momentum and accelerate delivery.

Speakers: Ann Cousins, co-chair of the Environmental Sustainability Board, Jim Longhurst, Assistant Vice-Chancellor : Environment & Sustainability at UWE, Cllr Shah, Cabinet Member for Climate, Ecology and Sustainable Growth and Lizzi Testani, COO at Bristol Green Capital Partnership CIC
