Event description

Description

Please join us for our fifth New England Survivors of Torture and Trauma conference "Our Global Crisis: Embracing Refugees and Survivors of Torture," sponsored by Connecting Cultures, Vermont Psychological Services, at the University of Vermont. Our goal is to discuss holistic, integrated, and effective research, advocacy, and service provision with refugees and survivors of torture in a culturally relevant manner.

The 2019 conference agenda is headlined by a keynote address from Dr. Richard Mollica. Dr Mollica is the Director of the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma (HPRT) of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He has published over 160 scientific articles and he and his team have worked over the past 30 years to work with over 10,000 survivors of extreme violence worldwide. Through his research, clinical work and trainings he is recognized as a leader in intervention and research with survivors of mass violence and displacement.

Additional sponsors include Main Street Landing.
