In his apostolic letter Mulieris Dignitatem (The Dignity of Woman), Pope St John Paul II describes the Virgin Mary, the 'woman of the Bible,' as 'the most complete expression' of the human person's profound dignity - a dignity which is rooted in our creation in God's image and likeness.
For the Dominican Order, Mary is not only an example of how we are to live but also of how we are to preach. In an age which seems unable to answer fundamental questions about the nature and identity of the human person, what can Our Lady teach us about how we can present this fundamental truth of human dignity anew to the modern world?
